The bike

Yamaha 750 XTZ Super Tenere – blue gazelle

To prepare old yamaha for journey or buy something newer, for example BMW? Some counting, looking at pluses and minuses and the given possibilities soon led to dismantling of yamaha, with which I already drove quite a few kilometers of dunes also round pathless terrains of Tunisia and of Libya.
I kept in my mind all the time that there will be much luggage and two of us on the motorcycle, therefore I took the bike to pieces in whole, come on to renew suspension and engine to complete examination. Meanwhile I alone strenghtened the frame of the bike on places where this frames serially crack, replaced all bearings, oil seal and the parts that needed to be changed in my opinion.

Then I started to search for panniers. Here, Jan Krebelj from Ready2race helped me and changed my old panniers for two new big Trax panniers. After that I could start making rear carriers, ALU top case and also front carriers:

I didnt like it to load all behind where is normally the sole place for luggage, alongside tankbag. Therefore I thought to balance the bike with some luggage ahead and because I have gear and some knowledge, I only had to still some time. Well and some money of course; this one was disappearing darn quickly, although I tried to make majority of things on my own.

However, a renovated bike – blue gazelle - which finally arose after all the effort, proved to work very well on a test ride and streghtened my trust in the bike even more.
