some more pictures
i left the country. thought i would post some more pictures.
Here are a few pictures to show how some of the roads are. Nice on a bike. And it never ends.
We dont use the bridge untill the water is coming. It wears...
This is a couple I met out on the road. They had rented a bike from Manfred at madagascar-on-bike.com
This is a "route nationale". Nice!
And this is a guy I took along for a ride one day. He was complaining about short legs, and I offered him a ride.
And the funny thing is that these things lay around for weeks. I`ve seen trees covering the road, where theres dug a hole under the tree rather than removing it. As long as its possible to pass, it`s ok it seems.
Partners is crime. They were bankrobbers they told me. Looking for banks.
This is a traditional grave. And the paintings indicates what kind of person he or she was. The bigger the grave, the more respectebal the person.
Butterflies. A lot of them. I don`t know how many butterflies I killed during my stay, but I often came across gangs like this. I was known amongst the butterflies as "the butcher".
It looks like I`m busy, but I`m really not.
And while my Kawa was sick, I got to borrow this little mean mf. It was nice outside the roads, but I felt it in the ass after taking it 500km in one day. The seat is a tiny bit to narrow for touring. And the 400ccm alows a cruising speed of 85km/h. Unless you want to stop and refill on every gas-station...
Or you could just do like this guy, take some extra fuel along.
Potholes you said? Theres a lot of this, and best to keep your eyes on the road.
After the 500km on the honda, it`s good that theres a nice beach not to far away.
Working on the aerodynamics. Get the speed up, and the fuel consumption down. It`s all in the details.
And this is what it looks like when the sun sets over Madagascar. Beatifull.
