Day Nine 6th September 08

Nice = Lake Garda

We tried a new approach to the day today, we got up at 07:00, well I did, I forgot that my phone is still 1hr behind so at 06:30 nothing happened but at 07:00 Mike knocked on the door and off we went..........to breakfast!
It meant that we left Nice for Monaco at 09:00 ish when it was still cool, nice it was. On to Monaco, how in heavens name that place still holds a GP I have no idea, nice it is, but it is poky and well dangerous.
From here we drove on through the coast road to Italy and beyond, to San Remo, we stopped at a view point to check out the Harbour at Nice before we left only for Mike to miss his footing and it was his turn to drop the machine, sadley I feel it wont be last tumble on uneven ground.
Anyway I digress, the first 40 miles or so took nearly 3 hours so it was time to hit the Toll road! it took us over mountains and through them, into valleys and above them, so many tunnels and very high bridges, no wind and side wind then into the clouds. All that and tight twisties on a 2 + 3 lane motorway. Down on to the plains and a side wind to be reckoned with, all this and NO rain, Magic!
San Remo - Genova - Alessandra - Piacenza - Brescia = € 24.17.
Tonight we camp on the side of Lake Garda, not such a bad day, even with a sore.....................?
