On the road again..

6th October
On the road again.... after a hiatus of two weeks in Cape Town and more recently Marloth Park . I spent the time having the thatch roof repaired as the local troop of baboons decided it made a great nesting place as well as various other smaller maintenance jobs.
I have swopped out my hard panniers for a set of soft panniers which are smaller and more streamlined, the only drawback is that they are not lockable. Guess I will have to keep a very close eye on them at all times! I have also packed and repacked several times but still seem to be carrying too much gear.
Mile’s bike arrived and cleared customs and Miles and David left Cape Town last Thursday for Namibia and Botswana where hopefully we will meet up at Nata this weekend.
Today had a great ride though some stunning scenery (although very hot, over 40 degrees c), through Nelspruit to Sabie to Graskop to Zaneen via Gods Window and the Blyded River Canyon. The only minor setback was that when I wanted to take some pictures I REALISED I HAD LEFT MY CAMERA BEHIND, DAMM!!!! . So tomorrow I am in the market for a cheap digital camera.
Dinner was served at 6h15 so the staff could go home, and to think I am paying for this.......

7th October
Another day of hellish heat, over 40 degrees c.

Spent first part of morning in the Tzaneen Mall (yes there is one!) at game shopping for a digital camera after which I found a coffee shop inside the local Woolworhts (yes there is a large one). Tzaneen is no longer a small town.
Rode via Moria where the ZCC has its headquarters, quiet impressive, covers a huge area, would hate to be stuck in the traffic there over Easter. Thereafter on to Polokwane and points northwards. I arrived at a Campite with Chalets 2kms short of the border which I will tackle tomorrow.
Almost forgot, the most interesting event of the day was a call from David (SA) one of the two other bikers who I am planning to meet with at Nata to say that him and Miles (NZ) had split as Miles is pushing to make Europe by January. Not sure of the rush as there is plenty of time. I suspect that maybe there has been a falling out of sorts?. If so it will present a bit of a dilemma as to who to ride with. I guess time will tell.
