Bosnia and Serbia
We crossed the border between Croatia and Bosnia at Kamenica on the road Sinj - Livno and then continued towards Bugojno, crossing the beatiful Kupres field.
Then we headed uphill to Rostovo mountain (also very nice landscape) and towards Novi Travnik. We spent some days with friends and then back on the road we pass Zenica, Kakanj, Visoko and Sarajevo (we do not stop at these places) to Jahorina staying at Picerija Etno, owned by a very nice guy who rented us an appartement for a very reasonable price 10 eur per night for both of us.
We cross the walley by the Prača River, where was once a railway, and now there is a narrow tarmac road with several tunnels with no light inside (but they are only short tunnels).
Also the road between Foča and Hum is nice; in Hum at the border with Monte Negro you can see the conluence of rivers Tara and Piva, which become Drina in Bosnia. There are several camping areas by this road, because this area is quite popular for rafting, but it is also quite expensive. We payed 7 eur per night per person for a small bungallow.
We returned the same way to Gorade and headed towards Viegrad where we stopped very shortly for a coffee and to see the famous old Viegrad bridge.
We leave Bosnia about 15 kilometres after Viegrad and enter Serbia. Border crossing goes without any problems, quickly, we are the only ones crossing. We drive in direction Uice - Čačak, staying overnight in Ovčar banja, where there is a cheap camp, not very clean and tidy, but ok for one night (about 8 eur for bungalow).
Next day we go for a little walk in one of the nearby hills, and so we are quite late back on the road. We arrive in Pirot, which is about 20 km before the border with Bulgaria, late in the evening. That is why we end in quite expensive hotel Gali, paying 25 eur for a room.
