This is a road built by Italians (the local people and shepherds named them 'Talians without "I") in the beautiful Bucovina area, Italian construction company during King Carol The in 1902-1904, originally had a primarily military strategic and secondly commercial character (for the King to link two major forest domains). After the coup d'etat of August 23, 1944, it was the scene of heavy fighting in its mountainous part. Currently, however, it has a predominantly tourist character, the coverage with tourist services being centered in the area adjacent to the eastern part. Also in its eastern part, its degree of accessibility is significantly better, as a result of the investments made in this part in the modernization and maintenance of its infrastructure.
