Ireland – a destination for bikers since 6,000BC

A secret land, full of magic, legends, old stones, heroic tales and fantastic roads.

I also promise you the craic with friendly people, good food, music, poetry and dance.

There are a number of recommended tourist routes which can be joined together to make up an Irish coastal circular. These are well documented and signposted but if you take some daily inland detours you’ll discover a hidden and historic land full of surprises and wonderful memories. Just remember mileages are not to be rushed. Irish miles are longer and slower. Take your time. It’s an Island - you won’t get lost.

There are no rules as to whether you undertake your tour in any particular direction but some find that going clockwise keeps the wind at your back more often. Kinsale is the usual starting point for visitors to Ireland. It’s a very green island out in the North Atlantic on the edge of Europe, so the climate is mostly temperate. Hot days and frosty days are equally unusual but 4 seasons of weather can still be had on anyday between March and October. Oh yes – it does rain a bit – we have (at least) 20 different words for rain but don't let that put you off - it's only soft rain.
