Where it all began!!

So……. About five years ago David, my husband and I drove to Bright in Victoria for some camping, fishing and RNR fun. I had never been to Bright but had heard how beautiful it was. Unknown’s to us the Adventure Travel and Film Festival was on. We camped in one of the caravan parks for convenience and enjoyed the sights of Bright and all the surrounding areas. Unfortunately we didn’t catch any fish but we gave it a damn good go… While browsing around Bright we came across this motorbike festival. We had never heard of it before so we wondered through looking at all the bikes on display and chatting with all the people we came across ( David more than me, he is quite the chatterbox). Then we arrived at a stall where a lovely lady and her husband where selling their books on traveling around the world. We chatted with them for ages, about what they had done and where they had traveled to, life on the road and there families back home and after a while we left with both of their books in toe.

All that chatting had really made us thirsty so after a couple of ice cold bevy’s at a nearby pub we discussed what they had been saying. It was at that moment with no hesitation at all David asked me if I wanted to give it a go and well clearly the answer was yes. :) And that is how the seed was planted in our minds for this massive travel adventure we where about to undertake.

Next came the savings of the motorbike and numerous chats with all kinds of travel motorcyclist asking them questions how to get started. We posted questions on travel forums and read the books we had bought in Bright and any other ones we could get hold. When we purchased our BMW GSA 1200 Adventure motorbike there was no turning back. We where both so excited about what was about to happen. Hooked, like a fish on a fishing line. What a happy and memorable moment!!
