2up2wheels: Tiger bike, made in Thailand

Follow this story by email

We are a husband and wife team, originally from South Africa, now living in France. Almost every year since 2003 we grab some winter sun in the East and rent a motorbike to fulfill our adventurous streak.  In 2008 we purchased a Tigerbike, made in Thailand, easier on your own bike and can travel further a field. It is now 2015 and Tiger bike has travelled more kilometres than the distance/speedometerm can record.

This is the first attempt at recording our travel story. The photo/story starts as we arrive in Bangkok to celebrate B's 76th birthday. Hopefully there is some border crossing information for you and some routes and places to explore. Also posted on 2up2wheels.blogspot.com

After a year's separation we meet up with our Tiger bike, made in Thailand. It is a 135cc motorbike based on Honda components: a cross between a scooter and trail bike, like a Honda scooter with trailbike frame.Very few were built and we bought it in 2008. We have replaced the original rear shocks with competition motorcross shocks. The gearing was a 38 tooth sprocket and is now a 32 tooth. We replaced the rear trail tyre with a larger road tyre, but the front tyre stayed as standard. The standard headlamp bulbs are now halogens.
