Bretts Traveller and Tourist
Follow this story by emailPlanning for this crazy trip started around 3 years ago. Since then the passion has slowly built and been fostered by an Eidleweiss Alps tour and a few local trips down south in Western Australia.
My bike is a 2016 Ducati Multistrada with Enduro pack (bars, lights) and Givi 48l panniers and tank bag that I have so far done 11k on. It is my second Multistrada and one that i feel very comfortable on.
I plan to travel alone, as the scope of the trip is vague, as are my social skills for long trips. i do however intend to visit a number of family and friends as well as the usual twisty roads and impressive sights.
I have a little side activity planned to help with the long term lonliness - I will try to visit as many animal shelters as possible to donate a few hours in each to socialise with their dogs (alergic to cats!).
I have a full set of camping gear, and while a bike camping noobie, i intend to do as much free camping and park camping as possible to keep costs down.
Initially I am leaving Perth in Western Australia and travelling around 4300km via Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney before flying myself and the bike to Los Angeles.
Depending on the weather, I have a number of options from there, but i strongly want to head up to Vancouver again, then back down through many places in the US. From there, the hope is to fly from Toronto to London with Air Canda and begin the European section.
I will add more detail in coming weeks.
