Follow this story by emailIn 2014 I decided to finally take myself around Scotland on my motorbike.
below is a brief description of my journey, but if you would prefer to see it in motion then head along to the youtue channel;

I was born and raised in and around the capital, Edinburgh, but had never really taken the time to explore my home country. I'd spent most of my time heading into Europe or off around America and Asia, so I felt it really was time to experience my home turf.
Taking advantage of a break in my work schedule, I planned (a rare thing for me to be as detailed with my planning as I was) a trip around Scotland. The basis of my plan... stick to the coast and as long as the sea is always on my right hand side, then i'm going in the right direction.
9 days of riding around the coast, stopping off in most of our 'major' cities and plenty of hidden little gems, at what most people would consider the wrong time of year to be on a motorbike in Scotland, March. It was a risk I was willing to take, a risk that paid off. Inverness and the hieghts of Applecross were the only times i experienced any sort of bad weather, snow to be exact. The rest of my days were filled with blazing sunshine and because of the time of year, the roads were empty, the hotels were quiet, it was idilic.
After over 30 years of living in Scotland, finally I was beginning to realise its true worth.
