Australia to Latvia 2018

In February 2018, starts the final adventure of the 2 Wheels expedition trilogy, "2 Wheels 2 Continents”. It will lead from Melbourne, Australia back to Riga and will last from February to November. It is planned to be concluded no later than November 18, 2018, thus symbolically presenting this series of expeditions as a present at the centennial of Latvia.

Also this time, the participants will go as 2 Wheels Tutors. The informal education initiative implemented three years ago, after the successful launch of the “2 Wheels 2 Capes” expedition, has been able to develop and attract the interest and involvement of more and more new students. Students from all over Latvia have the opportunity to travel remotely and take part in Latvia Discovery Competition organized by Tutors. For "2 Wheels 2 Continents" students have already sent more than 100 tasks for the Australian continent alone.

During the expedition, it will be possible to follow it by reading the blog entries, regular articles on the portal "Delfi.lv" section "Tourist Guide" and by enjoying the records of everyday events and adventures on social networks. During the entire trip, the participants themselves will make the expedition video material, which, after returning home, is supposed to turn into a 10 series documentary-entertaining film. Of course, there will also be abundant photo material that can later be converted into a photo exhibition. This would be a great addition to the already existing traveling photo exhibition from the “2 Wheels 2 Capes” expedition, which still can be seen in various places in Latvia. Also, co-operation with the creators of the LTV program "Smart and smarter" will continue, and during this expedition, Tutors will create a video question part of the broadcast program.

Entrepreneur and world traveler, technology business maker and motor sport organizer, Brother of the Wind since the beginnings of Latvian motor clubs in the 90s, the founder of the adventure club "ApPasaule" and Tutors movement. Adventurer in the direct meaning of this word, at the same being able to be a loving father of four children. The motorcycle is considered to be his best companion as well on long journeys, as on small rides. Looking at the list of the most adventurous affairs - travelled twice around the world, organized several other large-scale motorcycle expeditions and conquered mountain peaks up to 6,300 meters high, created films, photographic exhibits and wrote a book about the experienced. Even though more than 100 countries around the world in almost all continents have been traveled, the further world exploration adventures are being developed with great passion, with careful consideration of the added value of such events to the Latvian society. Particularly striving to open up the vision of the world to the school youth. Mārtiņš invites both- friends in Latvia and like-minded people from all over the world to visit him in Pārdaugava - to the small hotel TwoWheels with the cozy tavern, named Dēkainis /Adventurer/.

Professional bomber for more than 25 years, moto instructor with 10 years of experience. On everyday basis he works in both professions. For the first time he sat on a motorized bike in 1979. Almost the whole of Latvia, Europe, and several thousand kilometers across South and North America have been traveled by bike. Participated in the adventure race of motor adventure club “apPasaule”.
