Follow this story by emailManali is a favorite destination in Northern India, its beauty, calm nature attracts around the word tourists. People who want to travel Leh-Laddkah , Manali is the best options as it has well connected roads and availability of public and private transport. People who travel leh-laddkah from Manali post of them prefer to take bike ride as the way between Manali to Leh is fabulous and that is the only reason where everybody want to see adventures.
Our journey starts very after a long study and discussion. One of my friend was not happy to take the bike ride as he was scare to know that Manali leh road is highest mountain roads. Actually, he was most scared by his elder brother’s death on road accident, after that he was always scare to ride the bike. Anyway, finally we convinced him and he agreed on one term that he will not drive but could sit behind the bike rider.
We reached Manali from Delhi by Volvo bus. Volvo buses are very good in terms of punctuality, experienced staff and safe journey. After we reached Manali, our search started for Bike rentals in Manali. We visited almost every local shop but not convinced by conditions of their bikes and price. It was surprised that every rent shop has same price and they don’t negotiate specially if there a session time. After a long search for Bike rental, we decided not to go by bikes as rental and bike condition were not up to our satisfaction. It was our second day in Manali and we were taking some rest but one of my friend which initially was not interested to go by bikes was looking some options on Google. He found Manali Bikes, and it was surprise that they were offering very young bikes with reasonable price and the most good thing was they delivered the bikes at our hotel. Thankfully we saved almost 30% by booking online at http://manalibikes.com.
By the evening of day, we started from Manali to Leh and decided that will take only one break within the way as we were running short of time. We were ridding Bullet and Bajaj Pulsar and when we reached Rohtang Pass, my friend who was scared to drive asked to ride my bullet . We were happy that he was showing interest on ridding and we were desperately looking for it as another friend was not able for long ride. We were crossing beautiful mountains, ICE, ZIG ZAG roads, and never realized when we reached Leh. We drove 550 kms within 27 hours. We all were not looking tried despite of avery long 27 hours drive thats is the reason people love ride Manali to Leh.
My second post will be tips for riders and scences between Manali and Leh.
