With a small motorcycle through West Africa 10 months

Follow this story by email

We started our adventure in West Africa with our 250 cc motorcycles! Eventually we passed 33 countries in Africa, riding our Honda CRF250L and made 50.000 km in 20 months.

This continent is amazing to travel, there is so much diversity, so many thing to see and then you also have the culture part. What a blast we had, in total we stayed 20 months on the continent. We where actually forced to leave as she could not get a visa for Egypt (believe me we tried everything). So in the end we fly our motorcycles from Sudan to Turkey what was actually a very cheap way to leave the continent as there is no way out by motorcyle overland.

If you are more interested about this whole adventure I would like to welcome you to our YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/oneroadoneworld where you can find some very special videos about our trip through Africa and of course new coming clips all year around.

Also if you do have any questions for us we are very happy to answer them and help you further with your travel plans. Just find us online OneRoadOneWorld.

See you out there ;)

Traveling in the unexplored country Mauritania, this is a country we all need to pass if we are overlanding West Africa. There is simply no way around.

We stayed in Mauritania for about 3 weeks and visited the following places with our motorcycle.

Chinguetti, Atar, Nouadhibou, Terjit, Nouakchott and Diama where we crossed the border to Senegal.

Whatever you do, do not cross the border to Senegal through Rosso. This is still known as the worst border so don't go there!

We made another video about this country, I hope you enjoy watching it.

Gabon to Congo Brazzaville - NDende to Dolisie

Passing country to country in Africa can be challeging, like this one Gabon to Congo - Brazzaville. You have to pass a 280 km long mudroad, there is no other option. The road starts in N'Dende and goes to Dolisie, this was a very cool adventure. A lot can happen, before us there passed many other and all they have a different story and none of them is boring to listen to there always happens something. Conditions are rough so good to take your time and don't panic.

Again we made another video from this adventure, come and check it out

Zimbabwe during rain season
Country

Date of update

We had a great experience travelling through Zimbabwe, we came to the country just after Mugabe left his throne.

What we see in Zimbabwe was all very happy people, all of them smiling and being happy eventough they live in tough circumstances. There is a shortage of everything, we travelled mostly in the North of the country for example we passed on the Southern side of Lake Kariba. Crazy cool experience but also we really felt the rainseason was started, we ended up setting camp pretty early every day.
