Left Emerald Beach on to A1, stopped at memorial rest area for coffee, took on fuel & tasty ice cream en route to Brooms Head. Observed kangaroos as we journeyed & spent night at campsite, kangaroos surrounded us at this campsite (shame we didn't get a pic).

WED 29 MARCH 2017
Rose at 7am.
Following breakfast discharged waste and refuelled with water.
Took walk along top of Brooms Head Coastal Path.
Journeyed on in van through McLean to Iluka. Enjoyed a milkshake, applied to get on a driving range with dismal failure and finished on beach with Dave getting bitten.
Arrived at Iluka Harbour and enjoyed fish and chips. Stayed overnight.

THURS 30 MARCH 2017
Started heavy rain overnight & left Iluka after having a word with lady in bakery as we were concerned we could get trapped in the town if only road out became flooded. Decided our best bet was to retrace our steps to McLean as we'd been watching the weather & the cyclone was now very close to us.
Had coffee & cake at information centre on outskirts of McLean, decided to park in centre of town & ventured into bowls club to seek shelter from the downpour. Played pool, wandered round, took coffee, shopped at Spar and decided to retreat to higher ground in the town where we spent a windy/rainy disturbed night but made it through (Thank God).

FRI 31 MARCH 2017
Left McLean but alas warning light displayed "Diesel Particle Filter" full, on reference to manual it advised that workshop attention would be required.
Therefore pulled up at first available garage where we first encountered a very chatty gentleman who kindly offered us some ice. Dave then approached lady in the shop who kindly let us use her phone to ring Apollo. They advised we drive at 50 kph for a few kms & then it would not show. Before leaving garage pies were purchased and consumed. Light went off/on many times.
Booked into campsite at Byron Bay & went for a walk down to Belongil Beach to watch the surfers. (Discovered the site on opposite side of road was in a completely different league to our poor site.)

SAT 1 APRIL 2017
Attended to emptying of black waste on the site which proved to be one of the worst.
Journeyed along A1/M1 but were unable to proceed past Clothiers Creek due to flooding, advised it would not open till following morning, but to Dave's great pleasure we were allowed to proceed within a couple of hours or so. Journeyed on through Brisbane to Beachmere where we spent the night.

SUNDAY 2 APRIL 2017
I was sick this morning (first time since I can't remember when).
Refuelled at Beachmere and progressed along to Glasshouse Mountains & took a short walk & collected a fair share of bites.
Then ventured on to Mooloolaba where we laid on the beach & jumped the waves. After taking on provisions having ice cream & giant burger, trying to connect with wi-fi spent night at Marcoola.

MONDAY 3 APRIL 2017
Left Marcoola and proceeded on up coast to Noosa Heads where we parked in road which had several trees down. Walked down to small beach with stones then sand & took a dip.
Aussie bloke said to us "If you don't like here you can't like anywhere".
From Noosa journeyed on to Cooloola and eventually Rainbow Beach where we discovered fridge not working, tried to contact Apollo & gave up. Ate at Coffe Rocks and had pleasant meal.
Dave did 175 kms.
