Sat 18 July

Drove only a few metres to where the park for the gondola chair lift was and took ride to top where we explored the various trails and look-outs over Squamish etc. & crossing suspended footbridge (we felt in view of what we'd already seen around BC the chairlift was not really worth the expense).

We then continued on to Horseshoe Bay where we sunbathed on beach & spent the night right next to the bay (having moved at least once trying to find a suitable stop).

Jerry did 55 Kms.

Sun 19 July 15

BREAKFAST AT HORSESHOE BAY

Had breakfast watching the people standing rowing on their sort of canoes.

Drove 8 mile down coast & took walk along promenade overlooking English Bay.

Crossed into Vancouver & made a visit to Stanley Park where we found a great parking spot to be able to wander down about 1/4 mile through the undergrowth to the beach. We sunbathed and swam there for a while.

STANLEY PARK BEACH

Then drove through Vancouver & joined highway 7 to Hope, stopping in rest area approx 15 miles from Hope, forgot to tell we ate in Fatburger & quite enjoyed it.

Dave did 206 Kms.

Mon 20 July 15

Had bad night (believe we got moved on at one point cos we were parked on Indian territory), eventually having to park adjacent to main road and railway line.

After shower drove along and stopped for walk in Skakit Valley Provincial Park where after 1/2 hour lost the river & it was also quite eerie walking through there so turned back.

EN-ROUTE BETWEEN SKAKIT & OKANAGAN FALLS

Journeyed on to Okanagan Falls where we pulled up on park recreation site.

Jerry did 248 Kms.

Tues 21 July 15

Took water @ campsite and visited Info Centre in village, took stroll down to lake & then went few miles to beach at Summerland where we swam, laze and devoured hamburgers.

Journeyed on to Fauquier. Stopped immediately after free ferry crossing.

Dave did 270 Kms.

Wed 22 July 15

Purchased petrol at Nakusp & drove on to Silverton viewing area.

Further on stopped at Slocan by Valhalla Lake, Dave endeavoured to obtain wi-fi at Slocan Library.

Stopped at Winlaw - walked down to pleasant river where we sat awhile and got bitten (again).

Arrived at Nelson and had difficulty finding the rendezvous with John. We had a pint with John at pub & then went back to his place for a meal & stayed the night (beautiful house he has).

Jerry did 245 Kms.

Thu 23 July 15

Rose at John's & had breakfast.

JOHN'S PLACE

Drove off & went kayaking when we spotted some kayaks (Jerry was in his forte with me having a bad arm & ploughed away from me without thinking to check where I'd got to & hence on return we went different ways back - he took the long route) & was then concerned about me (bless).

Also had a pleasant swim on deserted beach.

Progressed onwards to Ainsworth Hot Springs but didn't bother going in (very crowded). Got another ferry crossing & stopped on far side at Grey Creek Campsite.

Dave did 101 Kms.
