This 402 km of coastline has rugged cliffs and is a haven for marine mammals and birds, including elephant seals, Austral Right Whales, different species of penguins, herons, kelp gulls and egrets. Puerto Madryn is the base to explore this area and there are excursions that head for the Chubut River to travel to La Pampa (grasslands) where foxes, hares and guanacos can be seen.
