Altaussee Beer Festival

This sleepy village holds the annual non-stop beer festival which is organized by the local fire brigade in the first week of September. The beer tent ("Bierzelt") contains wooden bench seating, tables, and many counters selling food, including the traditional sausage. Bands play traditional music and there are many side attractions, including a tug-of-war, a fun fair, and stalls selling gingerbread hearts and sweets.
