Date of my visit

As a former resident of the district surrounding Wave Rock I may be slightly biased so I will keep this brief. Several minutes walk from the rock is a caravan park and camping area if needed. Directly across the road (walking distance) is a wildlife park which used to have koalas as well as locally found wildlife such as kangaroos - it's been many years since I visited here so I'm not sure what animals they currently have in the park.

It is possible to see the Wave in 15mins if all you're doing is checking the "Been there-seen that" box. Allow an hour or two if you want to wander over the rock at a leisurely pace and follow that up with a visit to Hippo's Yawn just down the road a kilometre or so. A 20min ride away is Mulka's Cave (which happens to be a stones throw from the farm I grew up on) and you could spend an hour or two wandering around this location as well.

The area is predominantly broad acre wheat and sheep farming and is the last town as you head towards the Rabbit Proof Fence and Hollands Track with a gravel road connecting Hyden to Norseman in the Goldfields.
