Annual Fire Dance
42.237699, 27.758945
This fire dancing festival takes place in early June and is one of the oldest pagan rites held in the Balkans. Commencing at sunset, the performers will dance within a ring on smoldering embers and not burn their feet. The atmosphere is suitably enhanced with the street lights being turned off and the sound of drums and bagpipes in the background. The dance comes to an end with the performers putting the fire out with their feet.
