Gold Mines at Ouro Preto

Minas Gerais gold towns are home to more UNESCO World Heritage Sites than anywhere else in Brazil. At the town of Ouro Preto, there are a number of tours offered to see the former gold mines. One of the best known is the Mina do Chico Rei (Little King Mine) close to the sanctuary of Nosa Senhora da Conceicao.
