Arenal Volcano

An active volcano of 5,366 ft. which can be seen from the small town of La Fortuna. From here you can see the lava running down the sides of the volcano and hear the eruptions from a distance. The volcano is still active and La Fortuna is the only place you are advised to view the volcano. A night-time view is impressive with the red-hot lava flowing down the north side and red-hot rocks erupting from the top. Around the area there are hot springs in which you can relax.
