Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve

Set at an altitude of 4,600 feet above sea level, this is an area bathed in clouds amongst the lush green mountains. The moisture drops through the trees to help support a myriad of insects, plants, orchids, 100 species of mammals and 400 species of birds. You can take the tram, walk the trails, or enjoy a canopy tour. If you are brave enough, you can partake in the high-flying zip-line where you sit in a harness attached to an overhead cable and whiz among the tree tops.
