The Leatherback Turtle comes to lay its eggs on Playa Grande beach from November to April. The nests are dug up to one metre deep, the eggs are laid, the pit covered with sand and the turtle returns to the sea. Sixty to ninety days later, the hatchlings will emerge and go straight to the sea also. Playa Tamarindo is a long beach with good waves for surfers, but currents can be strong, especially on an ebb tide.|
