I'm hoping this story will have a happy ending. My wife and I toured from Heidelberg to Zagreb in the fall of 2019 and left our moto with Lobagola to store before flying home. The proprietor is Dubravko Primorac ("Dooby"). He operates tours, a B&B, and storage for bikes, as well as some ancillary businesses like selling Green Card insurance.
We hoped to return in the spring of 2020, but you know why those plans got canceled. The bikes were stored in an underground garage in a location unknown to me. When the earthquake hit Zagreb in March of 2020, I contacted Dooby who assured me that the bikes were okay, and a bit later he emailed me that he had moved the bikes to a location right in the neighborhood of his business.
When it became apparent that we would be unable to travel to Europe safely before at least the fall of this year, my wife wanted her favorite helmet that had been left with the bike. I emailed Dooby and he agreed to ship it, and I paid him 35 euros via paypal for the cost, and he promised to do that the following day. That was in November 2020. It never got done, and after offering several excuses for the delay, he finally stopped communicating altogether. I cannot reach him by email, text, nor phone.
Obviously, I'm a lot more worried about the security of our bike that getting that helmet shipped. If there is someone out there who has any information about the situation at Lobagola I would sure like to hear about it. I don't know anyone in Zagreb who might look into it, and I'm trying to get the Croatia tourism office in Los Angeles to help, so far without luck.
