Opened in 1914 as the world’s first open-air town museums, there are 75 half-timbered houses that show town culture. The houses were brought from all areas of the country and faithfully reconstructed. Most date from the 17th to 19th centuries with the exception of the Mayor’s House which dates from 1595. You can visit workshops, a school, a theatre, customs office, groceries, shops, post office, historical gardens, kitchens and bedchambers.
