Quito

This is one of the world’s highest cities at 9,200 feet above sea level and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The setting is magnificent with snow-capped mountains and volcanoes. There are many Colonial buildings built on Incan foundations with 86 churches and many imposing buildings. Craft shops are numerous and there is a craft museum. The city abounds with local culture and Quichua people wearing their traditional clothes.
