Kõpu Lighthouse
58.915953, 22.1996321
92233 EE-Hiiu County
Estonia
One of the oldest lighthouses in the world, this edifice has been in constant use since the main body was completed in the 1500s. While there have been additions and extensions, the Kõpu lighthouse has never been completely destroyed and rebuilt - this is still the same structure as half a millennium ago.
The lighthouse is open to the public and you can go up to the top for excellent photos, for a modest fee.
For extra fun, consider continuing westwards towards the Ristna lighthouse and beach (with a surf camp, and plenty of space to pitch a tent in the pine forest on the dunes). Otherwise, the Villamaa campsite on the crossing with the island's ring road has comfy accommodation.
