Finland
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this beautiful city is the largest wooden historical city in the Nordic countries and has one of the oldest harbours in Finland. Covering an area of 28 hectares, it contains 600 buildings, a market square, out buildings, animal sheds, granaries, workshops and shops. The original city was destroyed by fire in the late 17th century, but was rebuilt. This city is one of the most famous places in Finland where you can also see the Church of Holy Cross, the church of Holy Trinity, the old Franciscan monastery, and "Kirsti" which is a typical 18th-century seaman’s two-room house.
