With the wine-making tradition going back to the 12th century, and with over 7,000 wineries, this is a good place to taste wines. Medoc, north of Bordeaux, is home to several chateaux. Graves area is famous for the production of the white wine "Sauterne". St- Emilion is a small picturesque village with steep cobbled streets and an excellent view of the vineyards. The historic part of Bordeaux is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the city is the world’s major wine industry capital.
