Patras Carnival

This annual carnival is one of the largest held in Europe and is held from January 17th until around the end of February. Held for the past 150 years, it is one of the largest cultural events held within Greece and comprises of elaborate parades, balls, a children’s carnival, and nightly fireworks. Two highlights of the festival are the search for hidden treasure and the burning of the king carnival on the final Sunday at the harbour of Patros.
