This magnificent temple was built in 1848 and is one of the oldest temples in Hong Kong. It is dedicated to Man, the God of Literature, and Mo, the God of War. However, there are statues of many other Chinese gods within the temple. Worshippers burn incense from the large bell-shaped coils which hang from the ceiling and, outside, there are many fortune tellers. Also, outside are the wooden sedan chairs used for carrying the statues through the streets of Hong Kong during festivals.
