La Ceiba Carnival

The main celebration is held on the third or fourth Saturday of May. However, many events start at least a week before. Visitors from all over Central America come for this riotous carnival which is said to be the biggest in Honduras. The culmination is a huge parade and an all-night party on the main streets. The procession is a celebration to Saint Isidore the Labourer, who is the patron saint of the city.| |
