Rio Platano Biosphere Reserve

The reserve is a tropical rainforest with 2,000 indigenous people who maintain their traditional way of life. Many animals can be seen, some of which are threatened species including jaguar, ocelot, margay, puma, deer, and crocodiles. Birds include eagles, macaws, and the king vulture. The green, loggerhead, and leatherback turtle species can also be seen.
