Gunung Bromo Volcano

An active volcano which can be reached from the small mountain village of Cemoro Lawang. From here, it is a 45-minute walk or you can take an organized tour by jeep. Situated within a vast plain, this mountain is 7,641 feet high and is one of the most visited tourist sites in Java. Depending on the eruptions, there may be warnings from the Indonesian Centre for Volcanology and Disaster Hazard Mitigation that the area is closed.
