Yogyakarta

One of the oldest cities within Indonesia with a bustling culture of drama, poetry, puppet shows, fine art, and beautiful classical dance performances. This area is still ruled by sultans and the palaces are a peek into the 18th century way of life for an Islamic court. Kraton Ngayogyakarta Palace and the Taman Sari (a water castle) may be visited.
