Blarney Castle and the Blarney Stone

The castle dates from 1446 and hosts the world famous Blarney Stone. This is a block of bluestone and, according to legend, if you kiss the stone you will be blessed with the "gift of the gab" and never be lost for words again. The stone is situated within the Battlements on the parapet walk To kiss the stone, you must lean over backwards whilst holding onto grab rails.
