The building of this white marble mausoleum started in 1632 and took 22 years to complete. Built as a memorial to a wife who had died in childhood, this is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Widely regarded as "The jewel of Muslim art" in India and one of the world’s universally-admired masterpieces. Twenty-thousand workmen were employed and the cost at today’s value would have been $340 million.
