The temples and monuments of Angkor Wat cover an area of 104 square-kilometres. They are among the world’s leading architectural sites and a prime visitor attraction. The vast temple complex took 37 years and 25,000 workers in the early 12th century to complete. It is the largest Buddhist temple complex in the world and was re-discovered in 1860 in the heart of the jungle.
