Petroglyphs within the Archaeological Landscape of Tamgaly

These petroglyphs (rock engravings) are the best documented in Central Asia. Over 5,000 images have been discovered primarily within the main canyon, mostly from the Bronze Age. Some others date from the Iron Age or are of Medieval origin. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
