Aukstaitija National Park

This park abounds with 126 lakes, marshes and meadows, 64 plant species, 48 bird species, and 8 species of fungi. Of the 116 villages, the most famous is the village of Paluse where the wooden church, built in 1750, still stands. In the village of Ginuciaiis, the famous 19th century water mill has the original mechanisms still in place.
