These Roman ruins are the best preserved in the country and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dating back to 218 AD and set on a high plateau, they are an impressive sight. See the House of Orpheus which was a magnificent mansion with some mosaics still intact, The Basilica, a large forum, the marble Triumphal Arch, and a mosaic of Bacchus in a chariot drawn by panthers.
