Date of my visit
My wife and I have visited numerous Mayan sites and this was just as special. Gets a little crowded but if you are close to the site and get in at 8am you will have a bit more space for a hour or so.
We stayed in El Panchan at the site entrance. Dont belive all the hype about the place. We found it to be basic but very good. Stayed at Marthers and Eds cabins basic, no camping and no kitchen but a good experience, the restaurant nearby was reasonable and the food very good some live music which stopped about 12. Parking for our 2 motobikes was in their parking space which although not secure had no passing traffic / people so we just removed the paniers and covered the bikes. No problems.
