Golden Eagle Festival

Every year in early October, this festival honours the majestic Golden Eagle and the ancient tradition of capturing small mammals for food and pelts. Competitors take part wearing traditional costume and there are competitions that show the speed, accuracy, and agility of the eagle. Set beneath the stunning setting of the Altai Mountains where the mountain tops are shrouded with snow.
