Finca Mystica

This lovely spot on the island of Ometepe in Lake Nicaragua (a.k.a. Lago Cocibolca) was built by the owner and his wife.  The cabins are "cob" construction, which is similar to adobe but made in place rather than by making adobe bricks first. You can ride your motorcycle directly to the location, which is about 1/2 kilometer off the main dirt road.  They have a wonderful communal area with hammocks and tables, and you can purchase meals cooked on the spot as well as drinks.  If you would like to ride a horse to the waterfall on the nearby extinct volcano, they will bring the horses to the finca.  You can walk a few kilometers to a kayak rental place in order to explore the small river in the lowlands between the two volcanos that make up Ometepe Island.
