This was the first European settlement in the country and has the oldest wooden buildings of The Mission House and St. James Church. The Stone Store is the oldest stone building, having been completed on 1836. Rewa’s Village is a faithful reconstruction of a Maori fishing village, including a chief’s house, a marae area, a cooking shelter, a weapons area, and genuine canoes. Nearby places to visit are the Maori Fort of Kororipo Pa and Rainbow Falls.
