Milford Sound

Set within the country’s largest National Park, Milford Sound was described by Rudyard Kipling as the eighth wonder of the world. Formed by glaciers during the Ice Age, this spectacular fiord has cliffs that ascend from the deep waters, waterfalls that cascade and mountain peaks which are stark against the skyline. Renowned for the breathtaking scenery it is set within a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers the opportunity to trek, sea kayak or even take a boat trip.
