La Amistad International Park

Tiger cats, pumas, jaguars, and rare birds, such as The Umbrella Bird, Three-Wattled Bellbird, Resplendent Quetzal and eagles (Crested, Harpy and Silver-Throated Jay), can be seen. This area is rich in diverse flora, fauna, and butterflies. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is the first park to be co-managed by two countries. "Amistad", translated, means "friendship" as the park is shared by the two nations of Panama and Costa Rica.
