We rode from the west on 250cc bikes. Before entering the park we navigated through a small town with poor street conditions. The route twists and turns through the town in an unpredicable fashion. A GPS kept us on the right track.
In the rainy season (peak is in Febuary) there is typically rain in the middle to late afternoon. At altitude rain can mean snow or hail, so crossing the peak can be tricky late in the day. We encountered only flurries.
