This UNESCO World Heritage Site is an outstanding example of the Mughal civilisation and was built between 1556–1605. Situated within the walled city of Lahore, it is spread over 20 hectares. Two white marble pavilions and a mosque can be seen inside. The Alamgiri Gate is the entrance, although there was another gate which is now permanently closed. The Gardens are set in three descending terraces with a canal to irrigate the 410 fountains.
